Established in 2004 to provide glazing systems to a wide variety of clients, architects, and main contractors.
Cube Glass has expanded into fabricating, supplying and installing aluminium windows (tilt turn, casement, pivot, sliding), aluminium doors (sliding, bi-folding, automatic, emergency) and curtain walling. Cube also provide fire rated and blast resistant versions where required.
While its main competitors concentrate almost exclusively on commercial deals, Cube Glass has a strong pipeline of residential work and is building strong relationships with smaller, high-end architectural practices which specialise in this field.
In domestic work, there is a significant move towards slimmer sightlines and doors with bigger panels and more glass – a trend which is being led by the international partners with whom Cube Glass now regularly interacts.
Cube Glass has had a fruitful relationship with high-end French residential door specialist Bel’M which has 6 factories in France producing aluminium, steel and aluminium doors. It also has prestigious existing supplier relationships with industry-recognised specialists such as SCHUCO, Senior Architectural Systems and Metal Technology.
It has now entered into a partnership with Swiss-owned and Portugal-based Panoramah, the manufacturer of bespoke, minimalist window and screen systems, in which Cube Glass is the sole supplier in Scotland.
In 2023 a scheme was put in place which gave all employees with more than two years’ service shares in the company which pays an annual dividend based on profitability. Job applications from skilled fabricators are always welcome.
When we started, it was just Gary Thorn in a small office in Queenslie, Glasgow with a computer, mobile phone and a desk. He quickly started to secure work and within 10 months, he had a small factory, employed two good fabricators and achieved a turnover of £775,000. Annual turnover is now £4.5m and most of our employees are shareholders in the company
More importantly the company is making profit, providing a good service and getting repeat business from familiar sources. It has grown steadily year on year.
